Guidelines on Consumer rights protection was completed and published in the context of the project Savings Mobilisation and Financial Capability conducted by Saving Bank Foundation for International Cooperation, in partnership with Georgian Banking Training Center,Association of Banks of Georgia and the National Bank of Georgia. Project is fully financed by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Guideline book together with its workbook is a first book in Georgian financial sector which reviews consumer rights protection issues. Objective of this book is to increase consumer protection standards in the sector and to increase level of financial literacy in general. The book covers the following topics: general principles of consumer rights protection and their importance, roles or institutions and parties related to consumer protection, main aspects of financial literacy, risks related to over-indebtedness and guarantor and how to avoid them.
The book describes examples form Georgian reality and situation in other countries. The
book is designed not only for employees of the financial sector, but also for higher educational institutions.
presentation will take place in Rooms Hotel Tbilisi, on April 17. By publishing this book, authors of the project would like to bring value in to development of education and training conditions regarding consumer rights protection in Georgia.
